In contemporary Indian culture, women represent half of the country’s population and are consequently responsible for national development equally as their male counterpart. Efforts to create greater gender equality could also help advance human society as a whole. The concept of women empowerment has recently piqued the interest of academics, planners, policymakers, and women in India. The book addresses the daunting challenges faced by women in the Indian society. Also, it illustrates and informs how empowerment has improved women’s livelihood across the country. It holds a heterogeneous overview of empowerment through socio-economic and political perspectives. The chapters are aimed to disseminate the prevailing challenges that hinder women participation in nation building and off remedies for the upliftment and progress of women through a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach.
Hence, we hope this book proves to be helpful to those who are concerned with empowerment of women. Furthermore, we are thankful to Dr Lovely Bhati, Mr Vipin Rao and Miss Jagriti Singh, who have contributed with their research and reciprocity. We also express our deep gratitude to Vital Biotech Publication for providing us with the platform in bringing out this book.
