Authors Details
Dr. Jasmeena Qadir
Dr. Jasmeena Qadir completed her M.Sc. from the University of Jammu and earned her Ph.D. in Sericulture from SKUAST-Jammu. Her research focuses on silkworm rearing technology, biological control of agricultural pests, and value addition in sericulture. She has published over forty research papers and presented her work at national and international conferences. Dr. Qadir has received several honours, including the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award and Young Women Scientist Award. She currently serves as Lecturer in the Department of Sericulture at Poonch Campus, University of Jammu.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar
Dr. Rajesh Kumar is a distinguished entomologist who completed his Ph.D. in Systematic Entomology from CCS University, Meerut in collaboration with IARI, ICAR, New Delhi. He serves as Scientist ‘D’ at the Central Silk Board. He developed the world’s first Wild Silk Moth Sanctuary and India’s first Seri-Eco-Tourism initiative. He has received several awards, including the Best Scientist Award (2019) and Best Employee Award (2026) for contributions to sericulture and insect research.
Birina Kaushiki
Birina Kaushiki is an M.Sc. Agriculture (Sericulture) scholar at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. Her research focuses on morpho-genetical variation in Borpat using morphological, biochemical, and molecular tools. She received the Best M.Sc. Thesis Award (ISASTR, ICAVRI-2025) and Best Oral Presentation Award at an international conference. Her interests include sustainable sericulture, germplasm documentation, and improving host-plant quality for rural livelihoods.
Dr. V. Ravinder Naik
Dr. V. Ravinder Naik is a Professor of Agricultural Extension Education and currently serves as Associate Dean at the Agricultural College, Warangal, under Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTAU). He earned his B.Sc. (Horticulture) from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, M.Sc. from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, and Ph.D. from IARI, New Delhi. An ICAR–JRF awardee, he has over 52 research publications and extensive experience in research, extension, and academic mentoring.
